ECA
The ECA Programme aims to help students identify, develop and refine their interests, skills, and talents in a wide range of areas including sports, the performing and expressive arts, and critical thinking.
The ECA Programme is delivered by our teachers, with members of the PE team leading multiple sports ECAs to meet the needs of the programme. Staff members with specialist sports skills, both from the PE & Sports Department and across the school, also lead our squads to ensure the highest possible quality for our students.
Every term, the programme is reviewed and refreshed in response to students needs and interests, as well as the available competition leagues across Dubai for that period. Parents (of primary students) have the programme shared with them in advance and use a platform to make their selections, Secondary students are able to select for themselves.
Duke of Edinburgh
To further complement this offering, our students are invited to build their confidence and resilience by undertaking the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Offered to students in the secondary school, the programme requires students to demonstrate commitment to developing a skill set, as well as the award’s highlight, for many, of completing a challenging expedition, which puts their collaboration, leadership and resilience to the test.
Trips
In addition to the ECA programme the school offers a wide range of day trips and visits from FS1 all the way up to Year 13, to bring the curriculum to life. In addition to this overnight trips are offered from Year 4, starting with 1 night away in another emirate up to 3 nights away in Year 6.
From Year 5 students are also offered the opportunity to take part in the annual Ski Trip, and once in secondary more overseas trips become available, most recently including trips to Japan, Spain and Germany to support learning across the curriculum.
