Welcome Message
At Dubai British School EH, we are proud to offer high-quality inclusion support tailored to meet the unique needs of each student. Our comprehensive approaches include early intervention strategies, a blend of push-in and pull-out support—particularly in the primary years—as well as small group and 1:1 sessions. We also provide modified curriculum pathways to ensure that every student can access learning in a way that best suits their abilities and aspirations. Our goal is to promote independence for all our students with additional needs, equipping them with the skills and confidence to succeed. Each lesson is considered and adapted to foster their academic growth and personal development.
Collaboration is at the heart of our inclusive practices. We work closely with external specialists, including occupational therapists, speech therapists, and educational psychologists, to provide the best possible support. Equally important is our partnership with parents, who play a vital role in the success of our students. Together, we empower every student, ensuring they are not defined by their challenges but are inspired to reach their full potential.
“Our mission is to empower every student by celebrating their strengths and supporting their journey to success.”
Jacqueline Baxter Head of InclusionInclusion and support at Dubai BritishSchool Emirates Hills
Learning Support Services At DBS Emirates Hills, we are committed to meeting the diverse needs of all our learners through our inclusive setting. Our aim is to nurture every pupil via high quality education, instill high aspirations, and empower them to become independent, successful, well-rounded individuals equipped with essential skills for lifelong learning. We do this through supporting students of determination, English as an Additional Language (EAL), and those who may require additional social / emotional support.
Since our establishment, we have prided ourselves on being an inclusive school that supports a wide range of pupil needs. We do not discriminate on the grounds of race, nationality, disability or cultural background.
Early intervention and strong parent partnerships are vital to us. These elements form an essential part of our integrated support system, ensuring continuous pupil progress. Quality teaching lies at the heart of our school, complemented by collaborative support from our highly experienced learning support team across all year groups. Careful monitoring and tracking of our pupils ensure positive outcomes for all and help identify if additional tailored support is required.
We believe that success for all is essential, and we recognize that the traditional curriculum may not suit every student. Therefore, we are pleased to offer ASDAN and BTEC programs as alternative pathways.
We also collaborate closely with external agencies, including educational psychologists, occupational therapists, and speech therapists, to provide specialised interventions when needed. These agencies partner with our class teachers to offer advice and guidance on necessary adaptations.
