I am originally from Edinburgh and went to Newcastle for University and this is where I trained and worked as a teacher.

I moved to Dubai in 2013 and have been here ever since!

I have always had a love of history from a young age, and I especially like visiting places and buildings of historical importance and interest.  Some of my favourite places include the Colosseum in Rome, The Tower of London and from my hometown, Edinburgh Castle.  As I progressed through university, I worked with various youth groups and decided I would like to become a teacher.  There is no better reward than unlocking and developing the potential of our students.

I have been a History Teacher for many years and have vast experience of being a form tutor and Head of Humanities.   I am a firm believer in Positive Education and that a positive mind set leads to great success academically and personally.  I look forward to developing all our students through Key stage 3 and 4, working with our dedicated Heads of Year, Form Tutors, students and parents.

Best Moment In Teaching

For me there are two memorable moments that I cherish each year.  The first is results day for our pupils, every year I am astounded by how our pupils perform, there is nothing better than sharing the joy of pupils achieving their goals or better.  The second is when something finally clicks into place with my pupils and they have that 'Ah Ha!' moment.  Where they know they can do anything that they set their mind to, whether that is remembering a tricky piece of knowledge or mastering source evaluation skills.
