Welcome from the Head of Secondary

Welcome to the Secondary School of Dubai British School.

The Secondary School covers the ages of 11-16, and is split into two distinct stages, Keys Stage 3 (11-13) and Key Stage 4 (14-16).  At this stage of their education, this is where students break away from the majority of their learning being supported by one teacher, to subject specialists delivering the curriculum.

The focus of the Secondary School is aimed at supporting every student, whether they choose a traditional academic route or a more tailored bespoke curriculum.

Whilst we celebrate students attainment, for us the most important feature within the school is a students’ progress, and adding as much value as we can during a students’ time at the school.  This works due to our highly trained staff, our inspiring curriculum, our well developed and embedded pastoral team, and the strong home-school partnerships that are formed between the school and parents.

Our whole school ethos of ‘enjoy, aspire, achieve’ underpins the day to day practice within the Secondary School.

At Dubai British School we follow the National Curriculum for England and Wales, whilst also delivering content specific to our locality. All subject teachers are British qualified and work within their specialisms

  • Core Subjects: English, Mathematics and Science
  • Humanities: Geography and History
  • Modern Languages: French, Spanish and Arabic
  • Social Sciences: Psychology, Sociology, Business and Economics
  • Expressive Arts: Drama, Music, Media Studies and Art
  • Physical Education: Recreational PE and Exam PE
