Spanish Teacher

I am originally from Birmingham in the UK and have worked for over 10 years teaching Modern Foreign Languages to students from all different backgrounds.

The world of languages opens so many possibilities for students and therefore Mandela’s quote really resonates with me, as it shows that through language, irrespective of its place of origin, you can connect to the core of everyone.

Being a polyglot and able to speak 6 languages myself, has outlined that there are no limits and in the same way we should encourage our future generations to realise their full potential and keep striving for more. In our ever-changing world, I believe that this is the key to raising successful global citizens and I am excited to embrace the beautiful opportunities that lie ahead here at DBS.

In my free time, I enjoy travelling, exploring different cultures and in more recent times have taken up a spot of baking and even started my own business inspired by my personal favourites.

Best Moment in Teaching

Picking your best moment in teaching is such a challenging task but I have to say that seeing the tears of joy of students on GCSE results days is something that is priceless. Every cohort of students that I teach brings something unique to my teaching experience and to see student flourish and develop into such remarkable young adults is such a rewarding feeling. I have seen children that have grown in personality and confidence and hearing about their experiences of travelling and conversing in multiple languages is something that is priceless, a skill that will remain with them forever.
