I begin my sixth year of teaching with the exciting move to Dubai British School Emirates Hills.

I look forward to continuing teaching Year 3 for a third year in my teaching career along with the variety of other Key Stage 2 year groups I have been fortunate enough to experience. My journey as a primary teacher began following the completion of a Bachelor of Education with Honours at the University of Derby, where I gained experience of working alongside other outstanding teachers within a range of schools in the East Midlands. Upon completion, I spent three years teaching close to my hometown of Wirksworth, taking on several roles, including Modern Foreign Languages Lead, School Council Lead and Newly Qualified Teacher mentor. Teaching abroad has always been a dream of mine and my wish finally came true in 2019, when I embarked on my very first overseas teaching career in Dubai. Within my first two years in Dubai, I gained the title of a ‘Positive Education Champion’ within the school that I worked and was proud to feature in their outstanding British School Overseas inspection report. I am very much looking forward to continuing my international teaching experience for a third year, here at Dubai British School!

When I am not teaching, I most enjoy winding down with a good book, coffee and podcast, or getting out and exploring the wonderful sights we are so fortunate to have on our very doorsteps here in Dubai.

Best Teaching Moment:

I love seeing a sea of children dressed in their wonderful national clothing, celebrating where they come from and what they love about their home country with pride. Seeing children broadening their understanding of other cultures and displaying tolerance and acceptance, for me, is so humbling! Not forgetting tasting an array of scrumptious international foods too! A trip around the world in a day; it does not get much more exciting than that!
